Twitch Bans Unauthorized Gambling Platforms
Amazons live streaming service, Twitch, has started to implement its prohibition on unauthorized gambling platforms. The company has shared some details about its prohibition guidelines, but it has largely avoided providing specific information.
Twitch declared that it would prohibit broadcasts from certain gambling websites, beginning to enforce its ban on unregulated gambling websites. This decision comes after years of disagreement surrounding gambling broadcasts on the platform. Although Twitch has provided some information about its prohibition standards, it has primarily avoided providing specific details.
The organization also examined if broadcasters were employing or promoting the use of virtual private networks (VPNs) to bypass geographical restrictions, and if the platform was authorized in the United States or other regions that offer sufficient consumer safeguards.
Moreover, it identified Stake.com, Rollbit, Duelbits, and Roobet as forbidden websites, and indicated that it might add additional websites to this list in the future.
Free social versions of these platforms that broadcast are also prohibited. However, Twitch reaffirmed that it still permits the streaming of websites that primarily concentrate on fantasy sports, sports wagering, or poker.
