UNLV’s International Gaming Institute Ushers in a New Era of Leadership and Educational Excellence
Brett Abarbanel is the fresh leader at UNLV’s International Gaming Institute (IGI), succeeding Bo Bernhard. Have no fear, Bernhard isn’t going anywhere – she’s landed a fantastic position as UNLV’s Vice President of Economic Development but will remain a known presence around IGI as a special advisor. A victory for all involved!
Abarbanel is no newcomer herself. With almost twenty years in the gaming industry, she’s a wealth of expertise in operations, technology, responsible gaming practices, and even the historical background of games. She’s prepared to immediately begin, partnering with everyone from academic institutions to government bodies and industry leaders to expand upon IGI’s already outstanding standing. Anticipate even greater advancements in gaming education!
And on the topic of education, UNLV’s Boyd School of Law joined forces with Entain last year to introduce a series of impressive courses on gaming law. Instructed by seasoned veterans, these courses are invaluable for anyone seeking to enhance their legal expertise within the gaming realm. First on the agenda? An in-depth exploration of gaming law and regulations guided by the esteemed Professor Anthony Cabot, a genuine legal expert in the gaming field.
The “Management of Gaming Establishments and Legal Frameworks” seminar was led by a seasoned expert in the field, William Buffalo. A separate course, titled “Fundamentals of Native American Gaming Law,” was instructed by a group of scholars from the UNLV International Gaming Research Center.
