The OHL anticipates this technology will revolutionize the fan experience, particularly within their venues. They aim to implement “Interactive Arena” in a minimum of six locations by 2024, including Melbourne’s renowned O’Brien Icehouse.

Furthermore, the OHL will gain access to Sportradar’s world-class integrity services, utilized by leagues internationally.

This collaboration is significant as it adds the OHL to Sportradar’s impressive portfolio of ten ice hockey leagues, encompassing major organizations like the NHL and CHL in North America and the Champions Hockey League in Europe.

A director at Sportradar, David Edwards, expressed enthusiasm about this partnership.

The innovations we are introducing will revolutionize the AIHL. We anticipate expanding our fanbase, igniting greater enthusiasm for hockey within Australia and internationally. This collaboration allows us to demonstrate our capabilities and how our technological advancements can elevate leagues and federations.”

Hartshorne, the AIHL commissioner, stated, “Our aspirations are ambitious; we aim to incorporate two additional teams into the AIHL within the next few years. Achieving this necessitates a robust technology collaborator capable of assisting us in realizing the league’s full capacity. Sportradar possesses a demonstrated history of success, collaborating with prominent figures in the sports world, instilling confidence that this partnership will be a resounding triumph.”
