The U.S. Gaming Association (AGA) has selected Michael Rumbolz, a seasoned industry expert, to be its next chief. Rumbolz, who possesses an extensive background encompassing positions as a regulator, manager, and provider, will assume leadership in January 2024. He will follow Jim Allen, the top executive at Hard Rock International and Seminole Gaming, who has functioned as AGA’s chairman since 2022.

Rumbolz conveyed his eagerness to address the obstacles and prospects confronting the gaming sector, stressing the battle against illicit gambling and the advancement of responsible gaming as primary objectives. He commended the efforts made during Allen’s term and indicated his dedication to expanding upon that groundwork.

Bill Miller, the president and CEO of AGA, warmly greeted Rumbolz, highlighting his distinctive and comprehensive expertise as a significant advantage to the association. Rumbolz’s profound understanding of gaming apparatus, casino management, financial technology, and the legal and regulatory environment makes him exceptionally qualified to guide the AGA into the future.

Miller remarked, “Jim’s proficiency, foresight, and guidance have been crucial in propelling the American Gaming Association toward its objectives and broadening our influence on the sector.

“He has served as a dependable counselor, and I am thankful for his input over the preceding two years.”

During Jim Allen’s term, the gaming sector grappled with post-pandemic resurgence while confronting a rise in illicit gambling activities – a pattern witnessed worldwide.

Contemplating his exit, Allen expressed, “Our industry and Association have never been more robust.

“I am immensely pleased with our achievements over the past two years, not solely in hastening gaming’s revival but also in outlining and promoting several vital new initiatives.

“With Mike and Bill at the forefront, the AGA is well-situated for what lies ahead.”
