Aristocrat Leisure Appoints Chickasaw Nation Leader Bill Lance to Board
Aristocrat Leisure Limited has named Bill Lance to its board as a non-executive director, commencing immediately, subject to regulatory clearance.
Mr. Lance is a revered figure within the Chickasaw Nation, having held the position of Secretary of Commerce for the longest tenure in the Nation’s history. In this capacity within the Oklahoma tribal administration, he supervised 7,000 staff members and oversaw the functionality of over 60 ventures encompassing gaming, hospitality, retail, and media.
Subsequent to his period as Commerce Secretary, Mr. Lance was granted the esteemed title of Ambassador at Large for the Chickasaw Nation. In this role, he maintains his representation of the Chickasaw Nation within a variety of tribal, national, and state entities throughout the United States, including affiliations with the American Gaming Association and the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber Executive Committee.
At present, Mr. Lance holds a seat on the Board of Directors for both the Chickasaw Nation Business Development Corporation and the Chickasaw Heritage Foundation. Furthermore, he occupies a position on the Board of Directors for BancFirst Corporation, a publicly listed company on the NASDAQ. Prior to these roles, Mr. Lance served as a member of the University of Oklahoma Foundation Board of Directors, the Oklahoma Department of Commerce Advisory Committee, and the Dean’s Advisory Board for the University of Oklahoma’s College of Arts and Sciences.
“It is with great pleasure that we welcome such an experienced and esteemed leader as Bill to our Board,” remarked Neil Chatfield, Chairman of Aristocrat Leisure.
His extensive background as a frontrunner in the gaming sector and with Indigenous communities will be indispensable to our leadership team.
I am certain Bill will aid us in solidifying our dedication to our clientele. Kudos to Bill on his proposed position – I anticipate his input to Aristocrat.”
Aristocrat investors will cast their ballots on Lance’s designation as a non-executive board member at the company’s yearly assembly in February 2023.
In the preceding month, Aristocrat consented to procure UK-based gaming provider Roxor Gaming.
